Our goal: empowered decision-making for all.

At Partner to Decide, we build and spread tools called decision aids that help pregnant women and birthing people make informed decisions on topics like induction of labor, vaginal birth after cesarean, and birth preferences. Our tools transform provider-patient conversations on these topics. We make it easier for perinatal care providers to provide excellent care and achieve shared decision-making every time with every patient. Conversations with our tools focus on options, evidence, and values and foster respectful and partnership-oriented communication.

Because we want to make sure our tools truly serve everyone facing these decisions, we prioritize the needs and preferences of pregnant women and birthing people who identify as Black and/or Latina, are insured by Medicaid, and who have low literacy levels since they are less likely to experience respect and autonomy in their care and most likely to experience bias. In order to maximize access to this critical information and excellent care, we offer our tools in many languages and at the lowest possible reading level (middle school or below). Partner to Decide is a US-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
